WHAT WE DO
PROGRAMS & PROJECTS
The Lamar State College-Orange Foundation is dedicated to serving not only the Orange, TX community, but all Southeast Texans by supporting LSCO's educational mission and activities.

Working with our foundation is more than a supporting higher education; it's a commitment to economic sustainability in Southeast Texas. We invest in the students of Lamar State College Orange because they are our neighbors, our friends and our future.
Scholarship Program
Each year the foundation issues $155,000 in scholarships to new and current students attending Lamar State College Orange.
Property Acquisition
Since the early 1980s, the foundation has acquired over 40 properties, most of which have been used for the LSCO campus, while others are sold to fund scholarships or purchasing properties.
The Brown Estate
The foundation serves as the custodial organization of the Brown Estate. The foundation ensures that this historic property is continually maintained and repaired.
OpenStax Program
Workforce
Development
The foundation provides a total of $6,000 in stipends to LSCO professors for their efforts in participating in the OpenStax program which eliminates the cost of purchasing a book for their textbooks
in 2019 alone, the foundation granted $20,000 to help fund LSCO's workforce training and development program because the programs do not qualify for financial aid.
Boot Scootin' at the Brown Estate
Boot Scootin' at the Brown Estate is Lamar State College-Orange Foundation’s annual fundraiser to support the organization’s scholarship program, allowing the Foundation to award over $100,000 in scholarships annually.
