What motivated to you to volunteer as a board member?
I have a love for education and have been on other education foundation boards. It makes me proud that our small town has such a great educational facility available for our local students.
What inspires you about LSCO and/or its students?
The offerings at LSCO are so wide that almost anyone can further their education by earning college credits, a specific certification or continuing education credits. It’s truly a gem in our community.
What’s your favorite part of working with the foundation?
I enjoy event planning for our fundraisers and getting the opportunity to make more money to give out as scholarships to students. That’s what it’s all about, again, helping people in our community further their education.
What’s your message to current/future students of LSCO?
Take advantage of the excellent school right here in our area of Southeast Texas! You’ll get a quality education to put you on your path to success!
How have you adapted to the quarantine?
Quarantine 2020 has been a little different for me maybe than some others. As an employer/owner of a local business that is deemed essential, my days have remained pretty much the same. Except for the fact that the stock market, along with the economy has taken a turn for the worse affecting my client’s portfolios negatively. This too shall pass, but it does make for somewhat of a busier day in the office. On the positive side, as a mother of 4 children, I’ve loved every moment of extra time that we’ve all had to spend together. It’s truly been a blessing to slow down and focus on what’s truly important in our lives.
